Water Festival [Bon Om Touk] is one of the traditional festivals in Cambodia. This festival takes place once a year and last for 3 days on November. This celebration will be celebrated in all parts of Cambodia including Siem Reap.
School is closed, workers are getting holiday and people come from far to gather at river bank to celebrate this festival. Fluvial parades, fireworks, and general merriment are magnificent. However, colourful racing boats are the main focus in this celebration.
Tonle Sap river is the main source of livelihood for fishermen and farmers in term of catches and fertilised fields in Cambodia. The locals celebrated the festival with a thankful heart to the gifts of unlimited supplies.
